What is the maximum number of devices that Verizon Fios can support? As a user of Verizon Fios internet service, you might be wondering how many devices you can connect simultaneously.
Well, it all comes down to the router you are using. There is no official cap to the number of devices you can use with Fios, the only constraint is how many your router can handle.
According to a Verizon support engineer, their provided router can simultaneously serve as many as 254 devices. That is a limitation of the 255.255.255.0 ( /24 ) subnet range used. That said, connecting 200+ devices will likely slow performance down to unacceptable levels especially if all connected wirelessly.

How Does Verizon Fios Work
Verizon Fios uses a 100% fiber optic network to deliver internet speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second. They also offer TV and phone service over the same infrastructure. The fiber runs all the way to your home and then terminates in an optical network termination (ONT) device provided by Verizon.
This enables symmetrical download and upload speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps. This is on par with AT&T fiber and most other residential fiber internet services.
From the ONT Fios connects to your router via either coaxial cable or twisted pair network cable (Cat 5e+).
